Resumo

The contemporary Western World has been affected by a chain of countless crises, of great magnitude and diverse order, at a pace that seems to become increasingly faster. At the confluence of so many crises, there is also that of culture, arts and literature, which will especially capture our attention. Crisis of literature that, in the European context, has been invested, since the 18th century, in a profound change, involving its idea, its form, its function and its mission and currently culminating in its radical transformation, perhaps as “l’adieu à la littérature” (William Marx), problematized by an existential crisis. Between this literary crisis and the health crisis, Erik Orsenna seems to establish a combination in his recent work, La Géopolitique du moustique – Petit Traité de Mondialisation IV (2017), which we propose to reflect on, in order to examine and question it.
