During the pandemic context, theatre companies accelerated a process of approaching to computer-mediated communication, but, in fact, since several decades ago this medium challenged creators to develop theatre performances adapted to the specific properties of this environment. After a review of the concepts of cyber theatre and digital theatre, we intend, in this paper, to reflect on how the digital stage imposes a rethinking of the notions of actor, space, time, spectator and dramatic text, as well as of staging and acting practices. The research methodology used is based on the description of case studies and the systematization of the results of interviews conducted within the Cypet research project. This way, it will be possible to identify strategies and resources that allow us to question the notions of illusion and presence and to rethink certain creation processes and theatrical practices inseparable from new technologies.
